UCLA's shopping street is Westwood Village, the grid of blocks just south of campus. UCLA's own Westwood guide puts the Village about a 10-minute walk from the heart of campus and says students get around it without a car. So treat UCLA as a walking campus. Everything below is on campus or a short walk into the Village, with Century City and Santa Monica at the end.
On campus. UCLA Store (308 Westwood Plaza) fills Ackerman Union Levels A and B with official UCLA gear, textbooks, tech and school supplies.
Weyburn and Kinross. Westwood Marketplace (10861 Weyburn Ave) sits right next to campus, with Target for dorm basics and Ralphs for groceries. A block south, Ulta Beauty (10925 Kinross Ave) sells makeup, skin care and hair products. Raising Cane's (10946 Weyburn Ave) holds the Broxton corner.
Gayley Ave. Gayley runs down the west side of the Village and packs in the most errands. In-N-Out Burger (922 Gayley Ave) is at the north end. Whole Foods Market (1050 Gayley Ave) is the big grocery, with Westwood Sporting Goods (1065 Gayley Ave) and Lamonica's NY Pizza (1066 Gayley Ave) a few doors on. Westwood Flower Garden (1091 Gayley Ave), Elysee Bakery & Cafe (1099 Gayley Ave) and Le Pain Quotidien (1122 S Gayley Ave, at Lindbrook) finish the strip.
Broxton and Glendon. Broxton Ave is the center of the Village. Diddy Riese (926 Broxton Ave) bakes cookies and ice cream sandwiches, and Milksha (1001 Broxton Ave, Ste 105) pours bubble tea. One street east, Trader Joe's (1000 Glendon Ave) is the third grocery. A few longtime Village businesses closed this year, Urban Outfitters among them, so call ahead before a special trip.
Westwood Blvd. On the main boulevard, 2nd Street (1100 Westwood Blvd) buys and sells used designer and vintage clothing, and Bread Head (1136 Westwood Blvd) makes sandwiches.
The official store is the UCLA Store in Ackerman Union (308 Westwood Plaza, Levels A and B). The main store is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 4pm. Textbooks and BookZone keep the same hours. Graduation Etc. is open weekdays 9am to 5pm, and the custom print shop weekdays 10am to 5pm. Hours change around campus events, so check before move-in week, home games and commencement.
Buy official UCLA apparel and gifts here, plus laptops, chargers and school supplies, which saves a trip off campus in the first week.
Target (10861 Weyburn Ave) is the move-in run for bedding, storage bins, desk lamps, cleaning supplies and snacks, right next to campus. Ralphs, in the same Westwood Marketplace, is the full-size supermarket for stocking an apartment kitchen.
Whole Foods Market (1050 Gayley Ave) is open daily 7am to 10pm, the late grocery stop on the west side of the Village. Trader Joe's (1000 Glendon Ave) is the third option, on the east side. Its store page doesn't post hours, so check before you go.
For toiletries and hair care, Ulta Beauty (10925 Kinross Ave) is open weekdays 10am to 9pm and offers in-store pickup and same-day delivery, handy for anything you forgot to pack.
Westwood Village is an errands-and-food district more than a clothing one, and Urban Outfitters closed in August after 22 years. Two stops still matter. 2nd Street (1100 Westwood Blvd) sells used designer and vintage clothing, shoes and accessories, and it buys seasonal pieces, from bags and blazers to knitwear. It is open daily 11am to 8pm, and buying stops an hour before closing, so bring clothes to sell by 7pm.
Westwood Sporting Goods (1065 Gayley Ave) is the Village's sporting goods store. It doesn't post hours online, so call (310) 208-6215.
For books, the UCLA Store (308 Westwood Plaza) has Textbooks and BookZone. Target covers basics, and Ulta Beauty (10925 Kinross Ave) books makeup, brow and ear-piercing services. For more clothing and sneakers, go to Century City or Santa Monica (see the last section).
For graduation, go to the UCLA Store (308 Westwood Plaza). Graduation Etc. is its graduation counter, open weekdays 9am to 5pm, and the main floor has official UCLA apparel and gifts for the whole family. The custom print shop takes personalized orders on weekdays.
For flowers, Westwood Flower Garden (1091 Gayley Ave) is a short walk from campus. Order ahead for commencement week. Whole Foods Market (1050 Gayley Ave) makes gift baskets, and Diddy Riese (926 Broxton Ave) caters cookies from one dozen to 100 dozen or more, for a graduation party or a care package.
Coffee and sweets. Elysee Bakery & Cafe (1099 Gayley Ave) is open daily 7am to 10pm, with breakfast plates, pastries, cakes, coffee and ice cream. Milksha (1001 Broxton Ave, Ste 105) makes fresh-milk bubble tea, matcha and smoothies until midnight. Diddy Riese (926 Broxton Ave) sells ten cookie flavors, brownies and build-your-own ice cream sandwiches. It is open noon to 11pm Sunday and Tuesday to Thursday and until midnight Friday and Saturday; Monday hours aren't posted. Saffron & Rose (1387 Westwood Blvd), a longer walk south of Wilshire, scoops Persian-style ice cream in floral, fruit and nut flavors.
Cheap eats. Lamonica's NY Pizza (1066 Gayley Ave) sells slices and 18-inch pies, weekdays 11am to 9:45pm and weekends 11:30am to 9:45pm. In-N-Out Burger (922 Gayley Ave) has a dining room and drive-thru, open 10:30am to 1am Sunday to Thursday and until 1:30am Friday and Saturday. Raising Cane's (10946 Weyburn Ave) opened in July 2026 and serves fried chicken daily 10am to 2am. Bread Head (1136 Westwood Blvd) stacks sandwiches on its own focaccia, and the Whole Foods hot bar runs until 10pm.
With parents. Le Pain Quotidien (1122 S Gayley Ave) is the calm pick for brunch, with organic bakery dishes, wine and beer, a kids menu and outdoor seating. It is open daily 6:30am to 5pm, so plan breakfast or lunch, not dinner.
Transit. UCLA's admissions visit page lists these bus lines to campus: Metro 2/302, 20, 720, 734 and 788; Big Blue Bus 1, 2, 3M, 8 and Rapid 12; and Culver CityBus 6 and Rapid 6. The Metro D Line extension, with a Westwood/UCLA station, was scheduled to open in 2027 in the Westwood Village Improvement Association's 2024 report.
Parking. A UCLA permit is always required on campus. Visitors pay at pay-by-plate stations or with ParkMobile, which adds a $0.45 fee. Most visitor areas charge $5 to $14 for one to three hours or $18 all day on weekdays before 4pm, and $3 to $6 for one to two hours or $12 all night after 4pm. Structure 8 and Structure RC are among the visitor locations. In the Village, the city's Broxton public parking structure is the main public lot, and Target and Ralphs share Westwood Marketplace on Weyburn for move-in.
Two of our districts cover what the Village doesn't. Westfield Century City, south of Westwood on Santa Monica Blvd, is the closest big mall. Students use it for department-store basics at Macy's, trend clothing at Zara (open daily until 10pm) and Genius Bar help at Apple Century City. Parking is in color-coded garages named for each anchor.
Third Street Promenade in Downtown Santa Monica is the walking-street option, with Uniqlo for basics and Barnes & Noble for books beyond the syllabus. The Metro E Line ends at Downtown Santa Monica station, a block from Santa Monica Place, and city parking structures line 2nd and 4th Sts. Both trips need a bus or a car from campus.
