Shopping in Los Angeles is spread across a wide map, so pick a hotel by the district you'll spend the most time in. Beverly Hills puts you near Rodeo Drive's fashion houses and jewelers, West Hollywood near the Sunset Strip and Melrose, and Santa Monica near the Third Street Promenade and the beach.
Every Key hotel below comes from the MICHELIN Guide's Los Angeles-area hotel list, sorted by the shopping district it is near. For districts with no Key hotel, we add a place to stay listed by MICHELIN or by the district itself. We don't print rates.
The MICHELIN Key hotels
The Key is MICHELIN's hotel distinction, and the 2026 selection was announced on Sept. 18, 2026. Two Los Angeles hotels hold three Keys and five hold two.
Three Keys
The Beverly Hills Hotel (9641 Sunset Blvd) is a 210-room pink landmark with garden bungalows, the Polo Lounge, the Fountain Coffee Shop and a Valmont spa, and it was recently renovated. Hotel Bel-Air (701 Stone Canyon Rd), also part of the Dorchester Collection, was built in 1946: 103 rooms in pink Mediterranean-style bungalows on about 18 acres of gardens in Stone Canyon. It isn't near any of our districts, so plan to drive.
Two Keys and One Key
The Beverly Wilshire, new to two Keys in 2026, The Maybourne and L'Ermitage are in Beverly Hills, The Peninsula is by Century City, and Chateau Marmont is on the Sunset Strip. Twelve one-Key hotels sit near our districts: five in West Hollywood, six in Santa Monica and one near The Grove. Each is under its base below.
Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive
The Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel) (9500 Wilshire Blvd) is the closest bed to the boutiques. It stands at Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive, which MICHELIN calls the end of Rodeo Drive. It is a 395-room Renaissance Revival hotel from 1928, seen in Pretty Woman, with rooms renovated in 2022. Wolfgang Puck's CUT, inside, is MICHELIN Recommended.
The Maybourne Beverly Hills (225 N Canon Dr) has 201 rooms on eight floors inside the business triangle, with Art Deco-influenced design, a spa and a rooftop pool. L'Ermitage Beverly Hills (9291 Burton Way) is a 116-room independent hotel with mid-century interiors, a rooftop pool, a spa and Costa Covo Osteria. The Beverly Hills Hotel is north of the Golden Triangle on Sunset Boulevard.
Nearby: All of Rodeo Drive: Hermès, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Tom Ford, Van Cleef & Arpels at the corner of Dayton Way, the watchmakers Breguet and Panerai, and Neiman Marcus on Wilshire. For dinner, Miura, a sushi counter on the second floor of Two Rodeo, and Nozawa Bar on Cañon Drive each hold one MICHELIN star.
Century City
The Peninsula Beverly Hills (9882 S Santa Monica Blvd), with two Keys, has 195 rooms including 38 suites and 18 villas, a rooftop spa with a 60-foot heated pool, and the Belvedere restaurant. Fairmont Century Plaza (2025 Avenue of the Stars) is in the MICHELIN selection without a Key: 400 balconied rooms in a Century City landmark from 1966, with a rooftop pool and Lumiere, a French bistro.
Nearby: Westfield Century City is anchored by Bloomingdale's, Macy's and Nordstrom, with Tiffany & Co., a Gearys-run Rolex boutique and Suitsupply, plus Eataly and Din Tai Fung. Tempura Endo, a MICHELIN Recommended counter on S. Santa Monica Blvd, is a short walk from the Peninsula.
